Sclerotherapy of varicose veins with microfoam is a treatment with more than twenty years of evolution. It is applicable to virtually any type of varicose vein and is usually performed without needing anesthesia. It consists in the injection of a detergent substance in the form of foam inside the vein that causes a permanent lesion of the inner layer of the vein, the endothelium. In essence it is like “burning” the vein inside using a chemical substance.
The fact of using high density foam increases the volume of the substance and therefore also increases the contact surface between the substance and the venous “endothelium”, maximizing the effects of the treatment and improving the results very significantly.
The fact of using the lowest possible concentration of sclerosing substance for each type of varicose decreases the inflammatory reaction generated, minimizes after-treatment discomfort and optimizes aesthetic results by drastically reducing residual spots on the skin.
